General Assignment: Direct the implementation of distribution activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Objective 1: Implement distribution:
- Ensure the implementation of activities defined by the Head of programme in coordination with the Logistics Department;
- Plan activities according to the expected progress of the project;
- Evaluate and update project needs (HR, financing, logistics);
- Develop appropriate questionnaires;
- Carry out project monitoring, follow the project’s progress and write relevant reports;
- Identify and inform the Head of programme of any problems or constraints;
- Propose solutions or improvements to ensure the smooth running of the project;
- Coordinate activities and sensitize local partners in the field.
- Ensure that LMMS data are well updated and equipment are properly handled (if system starts in Assosa).
- Ensure that reports are compiled and submitted on time.
- Collaborate closely with Logistics to ensure that food balance, reception, proper storage and dispatch are according to appropriate logistic procedures.
Objective 2 : Participate in the analysis and reorientation of the project
- Participate in meetings organized by the department;
- Analyse and build on past experience in order to share the lessons learnt;
Propose new project directions
Objective 3: Manage the project’s team
- Recruit and sensitize the daily workers;
- Develop training topics and train the team members;
- Organize the work of the team to optimize the capacity of each team member.
Objective 4: Objective 4: Recording and reporting
Follow clearly appropriate protocols and guidelines on recording and reporting – National, ARRA, UNHCR & other Donors.
- Ensure that data collected are complete, reliable, relevant, timely and valid.
- Ensure that weekly/ monthly data compilation and reporting of activities for internal and external consumptions are submitted to PM in a timely manner
- Evaluate the relevance and appropriateness of the intervention in view of the evolution of the context and needs (contradictory results, nutritional value, cultural habits, etc.)
Educational / Professional Background: Diploma in Logistics or Management from a recognized university/college with 3/6 years of related experience. Experience in supervision is required. Experience in NGO is advantageous.
Required Competence & Skills: Analytical capacity, Capacity to supervise a team, Good human relations, Knowledge of logistics, Good knowledge of implementing projects, Computer knowledge (Word, Excel).
