Maternity Foundation (MF) has been operating in Ethiopia since 2006 through offices in Addis Ababa, Oromia and Somali region. MF has operational partnerships with regional health authorities as well as development partners Together with BØRNEfonden (a child-focused Danish NGO), Maternity Foundation has responded to a call for humanitarian assistance to the current spike in the food insecurity crisis in the Anfilo district, Kellem Welega zone of Oromia.
This project will contribute to the TSFP programme which only targets the hotspot priority 1 districts. Based on liaising and coordination with key actors (Anfilo district health office nutrition team, UNICEF, WFP, DPPB, authorities, health officials and more), the project is designed with 2 inter-linked components contributing to saving the lives of children and pregnant and lactating women: a) strengthen the capacity of the extended health system in Anfilo to respond to the nutritional crisis giving special attention to vulnerable population and b) addressing the short-term needs of MAM affected children under 5 and pregnant and lactating women through monthly distribution of highly nutritious food packages.
Maternity Foundation is seeking experienced Nutrition Project Manager, two Nutrition Nurses/Nutrition Field Officers and a Finance, Administration and logistics officer to work as team in the implementation of the project to strengthen the emergency nutrition response in Anfilo Wereda, Oromia region.
Position summary
The Nutrition Field officer/Nutrition Nurse supports to community health workers in screening, follow up and treatment of pregnant and lactating women and children under five years of age with SAM and MAM cases in Anfilo wereda. S/he will work in close coordination and collaboration with the Nutrition Project Manager, the health professionals in the health centers, the health extension workers and community workers. In collaboration with the Nutrition Project Manager participates in the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the project components in the location. S/he keeps record of daily activities and submits activity reports on a weekly basis.

Education and Qualification: Diploma in Nursing, Midwifery or Public Health with a minimum three years of experience in management of SAM and MAM cases, experience in an emergency nutrition crises set up is an added value.
