Plan, implement and facilitate IMC’s ARC-program information, communication and networking in the refugee camps and host community areas;
Create awareness on some of the danger and risks of irregular migration and the condition in destination countries;
Create awareness raising sessions among health-service, legal-service, and law enforcement and education service about the status of refugees to reduce discrimination and stigmatization in the school community;
Provide realistic information about the availability of basic services on how to approach and use them;
Conduct regular dialogue on migration risks and opportunities with refugees, migrants, returnees and diaspora on the risks of illegal migration;
Establish migration coordination forum or platforms and network (quarterly for interactive information sharing);
Maintain/Run migration desk (social media group, formal/informal information associated to migration, database of repatriates and diasporas and other resources) to provide information on risks of illegal migration and disseminate via mass media (radio/TV)
Develop personal stories and publish about irregular migration (on route and at destination) in Local language
Establish and Equip Migration desk at the information center;
Conduct campaigns on the risks of migration with special attention to young women and girls;
Develop youth focused IEC material and disseminate for awareness raising on migration (regular and irregular);
Ensure improved access for refugees to quality basic services;
Make sure that refugees have access to facilitation that inform them about availability of basic services and refer them to the most appropriate;
Ensure sustainability of the program for refugees to maintain the facilities;
Develop sustainability mechanism to maintain the facilities;
Document and disseminate good practices and success stories to inform realistic picture of migration;
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual work plan and activity based reports as per agreed formats;
Regularly monitor and evaluate the projects performance, provide timely inputs, feedback and impact of the livelihoods interventions in Dollo Ado;
Maintain flexibility to take on added responsibility as and when needed.
Job Requirement
Bachelor in Information Communication or similar discipline with at least 2 years of relevant work experiences.
Experience in working with returnees, displaced and migrant’s people at a grass roots community level.
Experience in working with different networks, associations and GO and NGOs partners.
Have experience working with youth at risk or potential risks of migration, and networking with diaspora community or returnees
Have technical ability in Refugees on Information, communication and networking for migrants/refugee programs;
Thorough knowledge and in-depth understanding of irregular/regular migration, refugees and out-of-camp issues in Ethiopia at community and macro-level
Commitment to IMC’s mission- Improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity.
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of English (spoken and written) while ability to speak local working language (Somali) will be an asset
