Context and Scope of the Position
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, SLO Addis Ababa and the direct supervision of the National Project Officer, the incumbent will support the implementation of the GIZ-led Better Migration Management project in Ethiopia seeking to address the second and third objective within the EU Trust Fund, namely “strengthening resilience of communities and in particular the most vulnerable, as well as refugees and displaced people” and “improved migration management in countries of origin and transit” respectively.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will specifically undertake:
1. Work with the National Officer to develop the overall project implementation plan, including the projects monitoring and evaluation;
2. Coordinate with IOM missions worldwide to facilitate voluntary return of stranded migrants and provide tailored reintegration support in accordance with the reintegration procedures.
3. Conduct monitoring of returnees reintegration activities, coordination with local government and civil society as well as assist in facilitating the reintegration capacity building training to government officials and other implementing partners;
4. Organise and coordinate workshops, meetings, seminars, debate sessions and training in relation to the project;
5. Assist in the sensitization, dissemination and popularization of the project and related activities in collaboration with the communications teams;
6. Update reporting and monitoring tools to keep track of project activities and ensure that all relevant documentation is produced and made available upon request;
7. Provide inputs for drafting of guidelines, operating procedures, strategy and actions plans for the project;
8. Liaise and coordinate with national and international bodies, governmental and non-governmental partners and counterparts relevant for the implementation of the project activities;
9. Gather inputs from BMM project staff and compile regular periodic, monitoring and donor reports, and updates on the project;
10. Support in the development/strengthening and functioning of a national system for the identification, referral and assistance to VoTs and other vulnerable returning migrants to Ethiopia;
11. Perform such other tasks as may be assigned.
Education
Professional Experience
Seven years of relevant professional experience for degree holders and Five years for Masters holders.
Languages
· Fluency in English and Amharic is required. Knowledge on other local languages is advantageous.
