Duties and responsibilities
Make sure the store is stocked, clean and in proper working order.
Uses ‘goods received vouchers’, ‘purchase store requests’ and ‘store issue voucher’ for any medical or other equipment and supplies.
May be called on weekends, holidays and night time on emergency conditions
Ensure that sufficient inventory is available at the store to avoid being “out of stock”.
Responsible for the security and safety of the store (make sure that all the windows and doors are locked properly)
Assists the pharmacist or druggists in cases of work overload or as necessary
Takes responsibility for storage of pharmaceuticals and uses adopted procedures and standards in accordance with national policies and standards and ensures proper implementation
Puts to use proper stock control, utilization, timely ordering and restocking of drugs, and consumable medical supplies
Makes sure all medical and non-medical materials are stored in appropriate places away from rain, dust, pilferage and deterioration
Alerts the supervisors that contraceptives and other medical supplies are utilized before their expiry dates
Ensures that all types of medicines and supplies are safely and properly kept and maintained
Prepares and submits stock reports as per the organization’s rules and regulations
Prepares and submits stock reports monthly, quarterly and yearly
Awareness of concepts and strategies of supplies; Awareness of MOH and donors guideline; and has
Strong oral and written communication;
Undertakes any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Education and Experience: Diploma in pharmacy with two years of experience as junior druggist in procurement, storage and distribution of Pharmaceuticals or BSC pharmacy and one year experience.
