Background
R&D Group is a diverse and fast-growing entity with over 110 staff. Since its inception in 2010, the company is specialized in Offshore Outsourcing, Training & Consultancy and has New Businesses unit that seeks business opportunity in construction, media and trade sector. Although R&D Group is quickly diversifying, the Offshore Outsourcing department accounts for 60% of the revenue with the Training & Consultancy and New Businesses departments making up the other 40%.
The Training & Consultancy department delivers the Resilient Business Development Service (RBDS) program on behalf of Cordaid, delivers Business Edge and other in-house and customized training, psychometric tests, and conducts diverse consultancy assignments through direct sales and active tendering. The Training & Consultancy department is a small and dynamic team with a Training and Consultancy department manager, a marketing and sales manager, a business development associate and a pool of certified trainers and associate consultants.
Who are you going to be?
The business development manager is expected to lead the Training & Consultancy department to the next level. He/she works to improve the organization’s market position and achieve financial growth. This person defines long-term organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions. He/she will be responsible for building a record of new businesses and maintaining a high level of customer service to the identified clientele. He/she should be performance-driven and entrepreneurial sales professional with an extensive experience of HR consultancy and professional training industry in or outside of Ethiopia. He/she is an exceptional communicator with demonstrated success in building relationships with (HR) managers of big accounts and other relevant stakeholders. In everything he/she does, he/she is expected to sustain an overall performance and make a considerable contribution to development and growth of R&D Group in general and the Training & Consultancy department in particular.
