USAID/PEPFAR funded Community HIV Care and Treatment (CHCT) project is implemented by Project HOPE as a prime and its partners, Management Sciences for Health (MSH), Population Services (PSI), Network of Networks of HIV Positives (NEP+), and National Network of Positive Women Ethiopians (NNPWE). The program aims to accelerate and sustain HIV epidemic control in Ethiopia in the selected scale up woredas of Amhara, Tigray, Oromia, Harari, Gambella, Somalia, Benishangul Gumuz, Afar and SNNP regions, as well as Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa city administrations. The objectives and interventions are designed to impact UNAIDS 90-90-90 goals and address Ethiopia’s challenges associated with delivering community based HIV care and treatment services.
The position holder is expected to work 40 hours per week. The positions require working with multiple projects in which Project HOPE is a lead partner and sub partner. The task requires closely working with the Ministry of Health, Federal HAPCO, regional Health Bureaus, Sub awarded LIPs and other governmental and non-governmental stakeholders.

Job purpose
The position holder is expected to accomplish the following tasks of Project HOPE:
The Community HIV Care and Support Specialist coordinates the community HIV Care and Support activities of the sub awarded LIPs at national level by working closely with the MoH, FHAPCO and partners. The position holder, together with relevant national staff of the project, participates in national and regional coordination platforms and development of national strategies & guidelines regarding HIV Care and Support program. As the project mainly focus on tailored community based care and support by enrolling clients from health facilities and in their communities, the position holder is expected to advise the Project Management Team (PMT) and LIPs on strategies and means of enrolling clients for tailored care and support packages at community level including piloting and scale up of different models of differentiated community ART service delivery models. She/he will actively participate in the capacity building efforts of the project to community structures of GoE and LIPs on HIV care and support. In collaboration with the M&E and quality assurance team of the project, she/he will be engaged in improving data quality, operational research and quality improvement interventions related to HIV care and support activities. All in all, the specialist is expected to strengthen tailored community based care and support by differentiating the services based on the need and interest of the client. Overall this position will play a role in achieving the “90-90-90” targets.
