Project Hope, with its prime partner Amref Health Africa and sub partners, IntraHealth International, and General Electric (GE) implement the USAID Transform: Health in Developing Regions project. The overall goal of the project is to reduce morbidity and mortality among mothers and under five children in Afar, Benishangul-Gumuz, Gambella and Somali regional states. The project aims to increase the utilization of quality, high impact, reproductive maternal neonatal and child health and family planning services and support the Government of Ethiopia’s overall progress in ending preventable child and maternal deaths.
POSITION TITLE: MNCH/FP Advisor –seconded to Gambella Regional Health Bureau
REPORTS TO: Deputy Regional Bureau Head/ Disease Prevention and Control process owner with a dotted line to Regional Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
The MNCH/FP regional advisor will provide regional level technical support in all MNCH/FP related technical areas. S/he will provide technical support for Regional Health Bureau’s planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of RMNCH health activities at regional level. S/he will work under the direct supervision of the Deputy Regional Bureau Head. This position is based in Gambella with frequent travel to districts for supervision and coordination. The position is also expected to support the RHB and staff in quality MNCH/FP program implementation, ensuring efficiency through advising smooth linkage among the different sectors and partners in the regions and documenting, articulating and communicating practices. The position holder will be the focal person for all communications between the Transform-HDR project, and the Regional Health Bureau.
