The DPD will provide leadership, strategic vision and technical support to all aspects of the programs including Nutrition/Livelihoods, WASH, Primary health care, RH and Mental Health programs. He/She contributes to the technical development of IMC’s current program initiatives in Ethiopia, and support the implementation of new, technically sound, and locally appropriate programming. The position holder provides technical support and expertise in the areas of program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The Programs Coordinator will also play a lead role in providing training and capacity building to colleagues and partners at the field level, as a key contributor to IMC’s commitment to ongoing improvement of quality and impact of IMC’s public health initiatives. He/She will be responsible to ensure program quality at all levels, completion of activities within the project period, and identifying new areas for program expansion and improvement. In addition, the DPD will manage larger grants if it is a new project and not managed by a PM. The DPD will ensure that programs are implemented in accordance with established national and international protocols, guidelines and best practices. S/He will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with field travel to the IMC program sites to respond to field needs, conduct assessments for program expansion both in emergency response and in responding to development opportunities.
The DPD represents the IMC Ethiopia Mission in technical meetings and on working groups at national level.

§ Master’s degree in Public Health or similar studies.
§ At least 8 years of field experience in humanitarian relief or development programs focused on health, nutrition, WASH, GBV and food security.
§ Excellent training skills;
Experience in supervising, managing, and providing technical support and assistant to field staff
Proven experience in program development (using log-frames), M&E, and HIS/surveillance systems design and/or implementation.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Computer literate (word processors, spreadsheet, database, statistical packages, etc)
§ Ability to conduct and supervise new program assessments and write cogent proposals and budgets;
§ Knowledge of donor practices, the program proposal process, and humanitarian and development program solicitations and applications;
§ Excellent interpersonal and troubleshooting skills
