Objective: Project Team Leader (TL) position is responsible to provide coordination and supervision of Maternal & Newborn Child Health and Nutrition project implementation in multiple woredas. In addition to providing overall coordination, s/he will also be responsible to directly provide technical and professional support in planning and implementing of the MNCHN activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
· Ensures that planning and implementation of the project activities are in accordance with the program principles, approaches, and procedures of the organization;
· Works closely with other project staff and partners in planning, and implementing the project activities;
· Ensures effective implementation of the project activities as per the set plan of action as per the donor requirement.
· Develop and maintain close working relationship with Government officials responsible for MNCH-N in their designated area.
· Provides support for all trainings, workshops, and meetings conducted at zonal/woreda level.
· Conduct training need assessment to identify government line offices knowledge gap and design appropriate training accordingly.
· Maintain up-to-date data related to MNCH-N activities and deliver it to Monitoring and evaluation officer for data entry and analysis.
· Organizes and facilitates joint participatory monitoring programs with zonal and woreda partners.
· Facilitate/Conducts joint, supportive supervision with Zonal/Woreda /MOH, Women Affairs Bureau and other government staff on the activities of MNCH-N.
· Together with other MNCH_N team sets project quality standards and action steps and monitor the performance accordingly;
· Establishes firm and institutionalized working relationship with local officials, community institutions and other stake holders;
· Keeps up to date the development in the sectors, including best practices examples in country and ensure ongoing personal development and learning;
· Supervises, coach and gives technical backup to capacity building Officers.
· Develops appropriate reporting formats together with the Filed Office and SRH unit team members;
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOW HOW)
A) EDUCATION/TRAINING
· BSc Degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Nursing, or other Health Science related fields
B) EXPERIENCE:
· Four years of experience in Health related programs and community participatory project implementation
