Main Purpose |
Assisting the Finance Coordinator in the implementation and follow-up of the finance activities of the mission, while executing the accountancy and payment related tasks for the capital, according to MSF policies, standards and procedures in order to ensure documentary traceability as well as compliance with local labour and fiscal regulations .

Training and coaching
Emergency response
• Responsible to organize and maintain complete finance system in any emergency intervention
• Act as field administrator in a situation of new project till recruitment completed.
• Replace Field finance staff on their absence (gap filling)
Project document verification
• Verify all projects monthly financial documents and give comment or recommendation and follow-up the process closely. Make corrections as necessary before forwarding to the Dep FinCo for final checking and provide 15 days and monthly feedback to the project.
• Regularly checks the balance of petty cash (both debit and credit cashboxes); spot checks that all paperwork is being correctly completed for all petty cash advances & settlements
• Prepare project bank account balance reconciliation
• Verify projects tax collection and payments and follow-up the whole process closely
• Verify projects staff payroll with all data attached with payroll
Taxation & Legal issues
• Make sure Duty Stamp gets paid for all projects and coordination office employee once a year and for new staff contract during the year.
• Maintain proper filing related to Duty Stamp payment for all projects and coordination office.
Liaison work
• Support Coordination office Accountant in liaison work when he/she is in Addis Ababa office
• Ensures that the projects and Addis logistics send their monthly money requests/overviews and compile the money request for Amsterdam
Project Support: Need to flexible to visit project location to support HR department in project in very short notice. This Position requires 50% of the time for project visit.
General |
· The responsibilities mentioned above are not exhaustive and other work can be required according to the needs of the mission.
· Mobility is requested from MSF staff, including short term assignments from their usual place of work.
· Part of any MSF-employee responsibilities is the attendance of trainings as per the requirements of the organisation.
