Background
The Fenot: Achieving Excellence in Primary Care project, implemented by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, aims to support the Federal Ministry of Health and Regional Health Bureaus in improving the use of evidence in policymaking and program decisions. Fenot is supporting the MCH Directorate in convening a number of forums for increasing evidence generation and translation, including the RMNCH-N Research Advisory Council (RAC), the Lancet Global Health Commission for High Quality Health Systems (HQSS)/ Ethiopia Quality Commission (EQC), and an Analytic Core Team (ACT) of experts to support the Directorate with conducting analyses of data on priority health topics.
In order to efficiently and effectively implement the research activities and strengthen the use of evidence by the MCH Directorate, the Directorate is seeking technical assistance (TA) to focus on research, data analysis and writing of scientific and policy documents/ papers. The purpose of this TA is to accomplish research and analytic tasks set forward by the above forums in a timely manner and improve the performance of research activities and translation of evidence into policy and practice.
The Fenot project seeks to appoint a Senior Research Advisor (SRA) for TA assignment in the MCH Directorate of the FMOH, and to work part-time from the Fenot office. The SRA must have extensive knowledge of public health and/ or health systems, be an expert in statistical analysis, be experienced using STATA, have a track record of writing and publishing scientific manuscripts based on quantitative analysis, and be able to train less experienced staff in analytic technics and approaches. The SRA should have good team work and coordination experience, and able to work in a demanding environment to deliver results.
