INTRODUCTION
DRC has started new program in Tigray regional state, where the organization is implementing a variety of youth protection activities in Hitsats, Mai-Aini and Adhi-Harush refugee camps, which are currently hosting a combined population of over 30,000 Eritrean refugees.
Overall purpose of the role:
Under the supervision of the Protection Team Leader, the Protection Officer will support the implementation ofDRC’s mobile protection activities supporting internally displaced people (IDPs) and associated host communities. The Protection Officer will conduct protection monitoring activities, including observation, facilitation of focus group discussions and leading key informant interviews, will develop and facilitate trainings related to protection issues, will collaborate with relevant local authorities and duty-bearers to improve protection-related assistance, such as the provision of individualized protection assistance, and will support in the design and implementation of protection mainstreaming initiatives.
