Disability Mainstreaming Program Coordinator - Africa towards Disability Inclusion Project (ARADI)
Introduction
Youth Network for Sustainable Development (YNSD) is a non-governmental, non-profit making indigenous organization based in Addis Ababa and founded in 2003 by four school clubs and fifteen youth associations. YNSD’s overarching vision is to see Ethiopian youth holistically empowered and meaningfully involved in the country’s sustainable development endeavors. To this end, our organization is now working to ensure that its projects are visibly inclusive of vulnerable sections of society, such as youth with disabilities, who are often left out of the nation’s socio-economic development interventions and dynamics. Given that 15%-17% of Ethiopia’s population lives with one or another form of disability, we realize that ensuring the disability-inclusivity and human-centeredness of all programs is key to the overall success as well as sustainability of any plan. YNSD has therefore partnered with the Africa Disability Alliance (ADA), headquartered in Pretoria, South Africa to implement a new project entitled - Africa towards Disability Inclusion (ARADI) -aimed at contributing to national and continental efforts to address challenges of persons with disabilities, with a particular emphasis on revamping active participation ofyouth with disabilities in Ethiopia and across the continent.
In light of the aforementioned, YNSD is hereby seeking to recruit a Disability Mainstreaming Program Coordinator to serve as a focal person for the ARADI project and coordinate all project management activities related to this project. The candidate shall report to YNSD’s Program Manager, and work under the overall supervision of the Executive Director.
