About the project
JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. seeks to recruit health information system professionals for its Data Use Project (DUP). The goal of the project is to improve collection and use of high-quality routine information; improve the quality, efficiency, and availability of primary health, and nutrition services at all levels of the Ethiopian health system. JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI) is a public health management consulting and research organization dedicated to improving the health of individuals and communities throughout the world.
Summary of Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Regional Coordinator and the central office Data Use Specialist, the Regional Data Use Specialist will be responsible to assist the RHB to innovate and implement approaches to improve HIS data use.
Specific Responsibilities
The Regional Data Use Technical Specialist will work in collaboration with the respective RHB and will facilitate the project’s efforts to create, monitor, document and disseminate the best practices for Data Use Innovation Labs. He/she will be responsible to:
Build capacity for the institutionalization of data quality assurance tools, methods, and practices
Facilitate implementation of Routine Health Information Systems (RHIS) short courses
Education
A Master’s in Public Health, Health Informatics, or related field
Experience
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in health management systems, data visualization, analytics experience
Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and DHIS 2, SPPS, EPI Info (advantageous)
Language Proficiency
Excellent verbal and communication skills in English, Amharic, and the official working language of the assignment location (region) of the applicant's choice.
