JOB PURPOSE: - Oversees compliance is maintained with the relevant laws and regulations at all levels and by the Exchange, Members and clients. Investigates any breaches in compliance and prepares investigation reports. Provides day to day legal advice on the Exchange’s activities to the Exchange departments and units.
SUMMARY OF MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assists in ensuring technical standards for departmental work and compliance;
· Supports to oversee compliance is maintained with the relevant laws and regulations at all levels and by the Exchange, Members and clients;
· Investigates any breaches in compliance and prepares investigation reports ;
· Prepares charges for Business Conduct Committee decision on the basis of Investigation Reports;
· Follows up enforcement of BCC’s decision;
· Follows up on reports by Market Surveillance [MS] on Members’ trading activities and market trends;
· Attends and supervises trading sessions of the Exchange to advise and follow up trading activities and to solve trade infractions on the spot;
· Assists in carrying out inspection of Members books and accounts through Member periodic reports as well as on-site inspection visits to Members firms;
· Assist in undertaking internal operations compliance reviews
· Prepares monthly activity reports;
· Reviews and approves membership applications;
· Performs other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor;
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
· LLB Degree with 2 years of relevant experience on work in judiciary, prosecution and/or investigation related fields;
Required Skill
· Knowledge on commercial and business laws & other applicable laws;
· Ability to actively listen; Ability to patiently handle people and cases;
