With the position of legal aid lawyer you will be accountable to the Mekelle University Legal Aid facilitator and coordinator. The project officer will supervise your day to day activities. The applicant will work and can be assigned in any branches of the Mekelle University Legal Aid Center including Abiadi, Machew, Alamata, Shire or Mekelle Branches.
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic hard worker who is a team player and can work independently. Working in interdisciplinary team, good interpersonal communication, humble and someone who can easily handle beneficiaries is necessary. Acting as a vital member of a dynamic team, the candidate is expected to be flexible, reasonable, accommodating, and constructive and to actively contribute to making the working environment a happy one. We expect the applicant to be willing to work in any of the branch offices of Mekelle University Legal Aid center including prison center. We are also looking for a person with a demonstrated interest in community service and with a proven capacity to practically provide legal aid for vulnerable specifically women, persons with disability, persons held in custody, persons living with HIV/AIDS, children, elders, refugees and other vulnerable groups.
Key responsibilities
