SNV is a not-for-profit international development organisation. Founded in the Netherlands 50 years ago, we have built a long-term, local presence in 39 of the poorest countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Our global team of local and international advisors works with local partners to equip communities, businesses and organisations with the tools, knowledge and connections they need to increase their incomes and gain access to basic services – empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and guide their own development.

1. Introduction
Horti-LIFE is a project of SNV Netherlands Development Organisation. It trains groups of farmers to improve horticulture production. Both husband and wife are member of these groups.
Next to training farmers in production, the project also aims to stimulate balancing the benefits between husband and wife from horticulture production: this means more fair sharing of labour, of income, and of decision-making within the household.
The project has decided to make use of Gender Facilitation Cards. These are A3-size cartoons. These cartoons are used during the farmer group meetings by facilitators to simulate discussion on gender issues.
2. Objective of the assignment
Design of 8 cartoons to be used as Gender Facilitation Cards to be used during farmer group meetings
3. Deliverables
The final deliverables are: 8 ‘Final Cartoons’ – the original drawings or painting.
There will be a process to ensure that the artist understands the aims of Horti-LIFE and that cartoons will meet the purpose and are appreciated and understood by the farmers.
The intermediate deliverables therefore are:
X ‘Rough Sketches’, A4-size, based on instructions by Horti-LIFE. Horti-LIFE already has specific ideas (rough sketches) about the cartoons.
X ‘Draft Cartoons’, A3-size, based on feedback from Horti-LIFE on the rough sketches. These Draft Cartoons will be field tested with farmer groups. Based on feedback from the field testing, the artist will produce the final deliverables.
4. Instructions by SNV
SNV will provide sketches of drawings, after signing of the contract, which the winning artist need to use as a basis. The purpose of each sketch will be explained to the artist.
5. Requirements

1. Selection of candidates
The following criteria will apply:
- Price per drawing
