• In close collaboration with direct line manager, participating in the definition and update of the HPCE strategy and identifying indicators in order to monitor HPCE activities, results, and achievements. Support in organizing and carrying out assessments and research on the impact of HPCE activities.
• Identifying and reporting the constraints, challenges and strength points of the HPCE strategy inside and outside the medical structures in order to reinforce the link between the communities and the project activities.
• Providing support in selecting and developing quality pedagogical communication strategies towards the community. Planning information campaigns, including targets, objectives, methods and goals in order to increase awareness among the targeted population.
Context Specific Accountabilities
· Proactively support and monitoring in implementation and maintenance of current blood donation strategy in close cooperation with Regional Blood Bank and MSF assigned focal point (Labtech focal point position).
· Proactively assess and identify possible referral system to health facilities related to project specific topics within which are sexual violence, mental health, maternal and child health and disease surveillance.
· Ensure ethnic sensitive HPCE response by maintaining feedback mechanism on social-cultural specific topics within the community.
• Assist in developing, producing, testing and distribution of health messages and IEC materials and make sure they are adapted and translated to the target populations.
• Ensure the consistency of the messages following the project objectives and priorities.
• Organizing health awareness sessions for MSF's medical and non-medical staff.
• Identifying key actors (local authorities, local NGOs, traditional healers, formal or informal authorities) and being the focal point for the networking in order to support the dissemination of health information of the target population, and be the point of reference for the relation and networking with these subjects.
• Ensuring cleanliness of HPCE activity areas.
• Collecting and reporting to the medical team any information linked to the health situation of the targeted population.
• Identify gaps in the services in his activity and report them to the line supervisor, present them in the medical team meeting and suggest improvements.
• Advertise, explain and justify MSF program, activities and principles within the community, local officials and other influencing actors.
• Proactively bring attention to the project management team for any challenge, which requires additional discussion, and/or follow up.
• Provide weekly and monthly activity reports, which include statistics, narrative and planning.
• Organizing, training, and supervising the HPCE team in terms of planning and organizing their work, supporting, evaluating and coaching of personnel.
• Supervising, in close collaboration with the HR department, the HR associated processes (recruitment, training/induction, evaluation, potential detection, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required.
• Assess the technical needs of the HPCE team through close monitoring and strict supervision of their activities.
