The Ethiopian Catholic University of La Salle (ECUL) is a Catholic University of higher learning operational since 2006. The University has been running degree programs since its establishment. It is now in a process of revitalization; adding new programs in Engineering/Technology & Medicine and moving to a brand new campus located in an attractive neighbourhood in the Labu area of Addis Ababa.
As part of the new programs, ECUL is setting up teaching/scientific laboratories for basic sciences (as physics, chemistry, IT, electrical & electronic measurement), and for advanced Civil, Environmental, Electrical, Energy, and Medicine (including computer aided design (CAD) lab, computer aided engineering (CAE) lab, soil lab, water analysis lab, and hydraulic lab etc…).
We are looking for full/part time Teaching/scientific laboratory technician(s) who demonstrate thorough and meticulous approach as well as have strong scientific and technical knowledge. Successful applicants will have to join the University with immediate effect and work with external experts in installing the labs to get trained while installing and run the labs afterwards.
Your role
As a teaching/scientific laboratory technician, your tasks will involve supporting the work of lecturers/researchers and their students to ensure that they:
Your role will mainly involve providing technical support, ensuring that equipment is functioning properly and is ready to use, and that the right materials are available for particular lessons or experiments. As the need arises you may also work closely with students to explain or demonstrate experiments or how to use equipment, as well as helping lecturers with a class and supporting individual students on research projects.

You need to have a diploma with minimum of 10 years or a degree with minimum 5 years experience in a relevant work setting in one of the following or related subjects:
