GOAL has been working in Ethiopia since 1984 implementing a range of multi-sectoral development, resiliency and humanitarian responses. GOAL Ethiopia is currently working with street children, pastoralists and rural small holders and responds to humanitarian crises in Ethiopia by working closely with local communities, local government and other key actors with a strong emphasis on resiliency, preparedness and longer term impacts. GOAL Ethiopia's major funders are USAID, OFDA, ECHO, BPRM, Irish Aid and UNOCHA.
ABOUT THE ROLE
GOAL Ethiopia is looking for a competent, motivated, experienced worker to join Borena, Logistics team and this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team. You will be joining the organisation at a moving time of growth and change and you’ll be instrumental in providing support in the delivery of the Program to the organisation and its employees.
ABOUT YOU
You'll be an experienced purchaser in managing different procurement activities and you’ll ensure on purchasing materials requested by the user units of GOAL Ethiopia as per the specifications and deliver the item to the store keeper by ensuring proper paper work and documentation.
· Diploma in Purchasing, Supplies Management or related field with a minimum of 4 years’ experience preferably in NGO;
· Familiar with donor guidelines; USAID/OFDA, ECHO, EHAF, etc.
· Planning and prioritizing skills
· Attention to details
· Outgoing personality with excellent communication and negotiation skill.
· Good computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Good command of English language.
· Team oriented, flexible and creative approach; keen to take initiative where appropriate.
· Accountability & responsiveness within areas of responsibilities,
· Sensitive to cross cutting issues like gender, accountably, child protection and HIV/AIDS.
Desirable requirements:
· Market assessment skill.
· Managing work under pressure.
· Highly motivated and able to work independently.
· Able to speak Oromifa: Background from/familiarity to Borena.
Remuneration & Benefits:
Salary
Birr 8,448.00/month
Transportation Allowance - 10% of monthly salary.
Medical Allowance - Birr 6500/annum (will be added in your monthly salary)
Hardship Allowance – 30% of monthly salary
Pension – 11 % from the employer and 7 % from the employee
