Objective: The Youth contract trainer provides technical support to Livelihoods for Resilience implementation at the local level and plays a facilitation role in the community. The Life Skills Trainer will facilitate training and coaching to women and men youth under the livelihood for Resilience Activity. S/he builds the capacities of the youth. In addition, s/he promotes youth transformation through awareness raising; sharing technology and best practices; and education, information and communication. S/he supports youth empowerment through collective action, solidarity, social inclusion, and gender equity. S/he facilitates and encourages active participation of youth
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Provide training on Work Ready Now and Be Your Own Boss
· Provide training to youth on the following curricula:
o Work Ready Now (WRN) (a life skills/work readiness curriculum)
o Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) (an entrepreneurship/financial literacy curriculum)
·Provide coaching and mentoring support to enable youth to continue to build resilient livelihoods and contribute towards household income
Facilitate participatory targeting and partnership building
· Ensure that all activities related to youth training are implemented with full participation of respective kebele level partners, Women, Children and Youth Affairs Offices/other partners related to youth activities, and other stakeholders as applicable
· Facilitate the active participation and building of trust with communities and other stakeholders and work closely with TVETs, youth associations, private sectors, FTCs, youth-focused government organizations, training institutes, etc. to identify opportunities for complementary support to project-supported youth
