This role will ensure the implementation of Plan’s Child Protection Policy in PIE and focus on protection, gender equality and sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR). The purpose of this position is to empower adolescent girls to be free from harmful practices and enjoy their sexual and reproductive health rights. The post holder is responsible for the delivery of results in line with pre agreed program plans and objectives and oversees program implementation at all stages throughout the project cycle.
Dimensions of the Role
SRHR coordinator will actively promote gender transformative approach to SRHR.
Responsible for project design, overseeing implementation and monitoring while ensuring quality program delivery of the overall sexual and reproductive health rights in Amhara, Oromia and SNNP program areas, networking, developing and strengthening partnerships and mainstreaming of child centred community development.
Key components of the position also include regional advocacy and networking, strategic thematic area planning, developing and strengthening partnerships and mainstreaming of child centred community development.
Given that a significant and increasing amount of the work is done through partnership, a key aspect of the role is nurturing, developing and facilitating the achievement of results through partners.
Accountabilities
Ensure the technical soundness, appropriateness and general quality in project design and planning
Ensure the mainstreaming of CP, Disability and Inclusion in the program area.
Ensure gender equality and the rights of girls.
Provide timely coordination and guidance in the delivery of SRHR programs
Provide leadership into the project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation; assess the outputs, outcomes and impact of program interventions and activities in the program area.
Prepare and develop in consultation with appropriate stakeholders annual work plans and project plans.
Under the Country Lead leadership contribute to the development of concept notes and proposals.
Ensure M&E and learning in close collaboration with the M&E team.
Ensure quality and timely reporting and documenting of project activities including preparation of quarterly/yearly program progress report
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Child Protection (CPP) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
