The international network of Action Against Hunger is represented in Paris, London, Madrid, Montreal and New York. Teams in the field combat hunger on 4 fronts: nutrition, food security, health, water and sanitation.
For our Operation in Borena Programme Office, we are currently looking for the following professional:
Deputy Field Coordinator
Work Base: Borena - Mega
Availability: As Soon As Possible
Project Duration: Contract Based
Starting Basic Salary 19,685.00 ETB
General Assignment: Manage the office in Borena in order to maximise Action Against Hunger impact and address of the needs within Borena Base
Duties and Responsibilities:
1: Overall management of the support and support the implementation of program activities of Borena Base as delegated by the field Coordinator or in the absence of the Field Coordinator
Project Support
Support department’s supervision:
2: Participate in the overall management of the security of the Borena Base and support of the Field Coordinator. Replace the field coordinator in his/her absence
3: Participate in the continuous strategic analysis of the security/safety and humanitarian context in Borena
4: Representation of Action Against Hunger and liaison with Regional authorities in Borena Base, UN, NGOs at field and regional level as delegated by the field coordinator
5: Team Management as delegated by the field coordinator
6: Reporting and communication as delegated by the field coordinator
Educational / Professional Background Degree: Bachelor’s degree in humanitarian related fields and five years of experience in managing operations and programs. Experience in international NGO’s and emergency programs is advantageous.
Required skills: Computer literate in Word, Excel and Outlook and Microsoft office package, written and spoken English , Amharic and Oromifa, good relation and diplomatic qualities, analytical capacity, capacity to organize work and supervise a team, experience in problems linked with emergency response, willingness to communicate with people, good team spirit, willingness to work and live in a difficult operating environment.
Knowledge of the local language Oromifa is mandatory
Salary and Benefits: Starting Basic Salary 19,685.00 ETB with other additional benefits provided according to the social benefit packages of the organization.
