To be accountable for the major water supply systems design, design review and verification, well site selection and verification for GtN WASH Project. S/he will be a strong team leader, able to develop and mentor team members and work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve common objectives. The team leader will have not only the ability to effectively lead the water supply development design team and handle designs, but also will have the ability to develop an effective, efficient and innovative designs using cutting edge technologies with alternatives to meet very tight schedules and high targets.

Major duties and Responsibilities
· Coordinate and engage in the design and Feasibility Study Documents review of water supply projects in consultation with AP/Resident Engineers and relevant government offices. |
· Ensure that the Feasibility study documents of new water supply schemes and rehabilitation sites are reviewed and up to the standard before being submitted to Save the Children. |
· Provide timely guidance to the Senior Technical Engineer in addressing areas of concern related to water sources selection, water supply systems design and rehabilitation. |
· Provide timely guidance to the Hydro Geologist in addressing areas of concern related to well site selection, drilling operations and wells rehabilitation. |
· Provide guidance to the Hydro geologist to ensure that the well site selection and feasibility documents are done up to the standard so as to maximize the success rate. |
· Communicate project goals and objectives with key team members, local beneficiaries, government and the international community. |
· Ensure the water resource development is in compliance with community needs, donor’s requirements, WV and government policies and national and global standards; |
· Engage in and network with government, Save the Children, Tetra Tech, USAID and other in country stakeholders. |
· Undertake advance planning for the site selection, technical design and development of Feasibility Study Documents for subsequent year implementation. |
· Ensure that water engineers based at the APs are empowered and updated on design of schemes and supervision works. |
· Carry out other additional assignments whenever required; |

Qualification required: M.Sc. degree in Hydraulics, Water Resource, Civil and other related field
Experience: Minimum 5 years experience on the design of water supply schemes and 2 yrs at supervisory level.
Very good computer skill and engineering soft wares like Water CAD, Epanet and others
Working Environment / Conditions:
Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
Travel: 25% Domestic/international travel is required.
On call: 75%
