Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the IOM-SLO Addis Ababa Chief of Mission and Head of Programs, and the direct supervision of the Migration Management Programme Coordinator, the incumbent will oversee the activities within the Migration Management Unit (MMU) supporting enhancing the capacity of the Government of Ethiopia (GoE) and relevant non-governmental stakeholders to protect and uphold migrants’ rights and manage migration in an orderly and humane manner. He/she will:
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. As focal point on MMU capacity building activities, assist in developing a standardized approach to capacity building and providing guidance to relevant staff and external consultants.
2. Identify, develop, compile and promote high-quality capacity building resources and tools across MMU thematic areas.
3. Assist MMU and Programme Support Unit (PSU) to develop and implement high quality capacity building projects.
4. Keep abreast of developments in capacity building practice and coordinate with project managers/focal points to encourage effective utilization of capacity building resources within MMU.
5. Support GoE structures/initiatives, including the National and Regional Councils/Taskforces against Human Trafficking (The Taskforce), the National Coordination Mechanism (NCM) and the National Referral Mechanism for Victims of Trafficking and other vulnerable migrants (NRM), to implement and improve their training and other capacity building activities.
6. Support IOM coordination and liaison with The Taskforce, NCM and other relevant GoE structures/initiatives.
7. Undertake duty travel as necessary to facilitate project implementation.
8. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Only candidates residing in either the country of the duty station or from a location in a neighbouring country that is within commuting distance of the duty station will be considered. In all cases, a prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station, or in the neighbouring country located within commuting distance, and work permit, as applicable.
