Amref Health Africa is an African-led international health development organization headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. Founded in 1957 as the Flying Doctors of East Africa to bring critical health services to remote communities, Amref Health Africa envision to bringing lasting health change for Africain more than 30 countries across the continent. With a focus on women and children, the organization strives to overcome the most critical health challenges facing the continent: maternal and child health, HIV & TB, malaria, water and sanitation and health systems strengthening. Amref Health Africa in Ethiopia has been working in Ethiopia since 2002 in close collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health implementing a range of projects in maternal, neonatal and child health, reproductive health, health systems strengthening, health workforce development, water and sanitation, HIV/AIDS and non-communicable diseases across the country, supported by a wide range of multilateral and bilateral donors, corporates and foundations.
Amref Health Africa would like to recruit Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator for RESET II plus FP project in Addis Ababa. The job holders will be based in Addis Ababa with possible ad hoc field visits and reports the program manager.
Purpose of the Job
Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator position holder expected to provide M&E technical expertise in project implementation
Duties and Responsibilities
Key-Responsibilities:
Ø Establish MEAL group comprised from the M&E focal persons of all consortium members.
Ø Ensure all consortium members implement the project in line with the logical frame work.
Ø Support the project coordinator to compile the quarter and annual report collected from the consortium group, also ensuring reporting deadlines are met along with sending out relevant notifications to partners for timely reporting,
Ø Coordinate, in close coordination with other consortium staff, activities related to baseline, Mid-term and end-line surveys; ensure that data are properly analyzed and results compiled and reported in a timely and accurate manner;
Ø Prepare presentation of data related to project activities;
Ø Participate in Operational Researches;
Ø Routinely perform quality control checks of monitoring and evaluation work, overseeing that planned monitoring and evaluation activities are taking place,
Ø Take part in monitoring and evaluation networks with other NGOs implementing in RESET II and RESET Plus clusters, as well as with EC M&E focal points, partners and beneficiaries to coordinate field monitoring and evaluation activities, stay current on best monitoring and evaluation practice and support quality programming and accountability standards.
Ø As part of the learning function, seek to identify learning points across the range of work carried out by Amref and consortium partners, and identify opportunities to share this learning throughout the clusters network through meetings, workshops, reports, shared documents etc
Ø Ensure that the programme collaborates and networks with other stakeholders such Reset II implementing NGOs, EC departments and private sector organisations,
Ø In coordination with the Head of Programme and Project Programme Coordinator, represent Amref Health Africa at national levels; to donors, local and national government authorities, other NGOs, and any other parties as required;
Ø Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
