The Position
The Head of Human Resources will work with the Management Team in Ethiopia and will partner with the CEO and the Ethiopia leadership team to shape and execute the HR strategy for the division.
Reporting Relationship & Location:
The role reports of the Group HR Head who is based in Mumbai, India.
Located at the the Adami Tulu Plant, this role will head the function and supervise over the site HR teams at Adami Tulu & Modjo Plants and the country office at Addis Ababa.
Key Tasks
Provide strategic and tactical support to the country and plant leadership teams in functional areas of human resources including Industrial relations, statutory compliances, HR operations & personnel functions as well as recruitment & employee development.
Ensure a conducive Industrial relations environment among the workmen and contract labour at both the plants to achievement of business results.
Drive adherence to all factory labour & country compliances related to workers compensations and workplace safety as are required in Ethiopia.
Assist in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures and their dissemination through employee booklets, communications, and/or meetings.
Build a talent mindset in the organization and work with leadership team and Design & implement programs to retain talent so as to minimize talent retention.
Job Requirement
A Graduate in Human resources with 15yrs + experience in a company with large or multiple manufacturing sites of which at-least 5 years working as HR head of a very large plants or mid size multiple plants.
The persons must have in depth knowledge of applicable factory labour compliances, compensation and tax regulations of Ethiopia, contract labour management and of various labour courts and cases of dismissals.
The person should have very good English communication skills and MUST know Oromifa language.
Candidate must have team building capacity and issue resolving attitude.
Good knowledge of MS Excel and well-versed with internet.
