Background
CBM, Christoffel Blindenmission/Christian Blind Mission International, is an international Christian development organization whose primary mission is to improve the quality of life of people living with disabilities in the poorest countries around the world. Based on its Christian values and over 100 years of professional expertise, CBM addresses poverty as a cause, and a consequence, of disability, and works in partnership to create a society for all. CBM works with persons with disabilities, their families, local partner organizations, and alliance partners including national and local Governments, UN agencies, international and national non-governmental organizations, and Disabled Persons’ Organizations (DPOs). CBM’s vision is an inclusive world in which all persons with disabilities enjoy their human rights and achieve their full potential.

CBM works in Ethiopia since 1967, providing support to government and non-governmental institutions in addressing the needs of persons with disabilities.
CBM operates in Trachoma in 17 districts in Ethiopia, 10 in the Amhara Regional State and 7 in the SNNP Regional State. CBM supports partners in the implementation of the WHO S.A.F.E strategy to eliminate Active Trachoma, in coordination with the Federal Ministry of Health. Core Purpose
Responsible to provide support to the CBM Country Office in programme implementation, monitoring and administration related to CBM’s work in Trachoma in Ethiopia.

Acts in the Role of Programme Specialist Lead:
Implements complex/advanced programmes or projects, including budget, programme design and development, project monitoring and evaluation
Manages a multi-disciplinary field project and programme staff
Leads and guides multiple projects of significant scope and size
Overall Mission
The Emergency Programme Manager will support the Country Office in the development, management and supervision of programmes and projects supported by CBM in Ethiopia in the Humanitarian sector, including Emergency, Post-Emergency and Food Security interventions, in order to ensure adequate support to the implementing partner, as well as to main donor agencies (Institutional Donors and CBM Member Associations). The core job will include proposal development, project implementation, management and monitoring & evaluation. This role will also contribute to build the capacity of CBM Country Office and partners' project staff in Inclusive DRR and Inclusive Humanitarian work.
