Background
The purpose of this consultancy is to engage a certified trainer to roll out Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) approach to hygiene promotion through the training and support IOM staff and local hygiene promoters (HPs) in implementation sites.
Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Deliverables
In close collaboration with IOM WASH Specialist, relevant IOM sub-offices and local authorities, the consultant will launch and guide CLTS approach in the sites with a purpose of attaining Open Defecation Free (ODF) status.
Key aspects to be covered include are but not limited to:
i) Train IOM staff and hygiene promoters in CLTS approach
ii) Support in the planning and mobilizing for triggering
iii) Monitor and follow up on the work of hygiene promoters
iv) Mentor the HPs, in triggering the community
v) Follow up and support the HPs in implementing the community action plan
vi) Monitor, verify and report on the impact of the work
DELIVERABLES
1. Create customized English and Somali language training material for the CLTS training to local hygiene promoters
2. Training report
3. Launch and guide CLTS at field level.
4. Weekly reports on work progress with summary Monthly reports
Final Report at the end of the assignment. The final report will include the whole process including training, field experience, limitations, findings, conclusions and recommendations. The draft final report will be submitted one week before the end of the consultancy, comments will be given within one week and finalization in expected maximum one week after the consultancy is concluded, pending delay in reimbursement.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
· BSC Degree in Public Health
· Certified CLTS trainer
Experience
· Over 5 years of relevant experience in the field of different trainings and consultancies specifically in WASH component including PHAST, CLTS, Three Star Approach, SLTS, and CHAST approaches.
· Proven experience of conducing participatory training for adults with low level of education as well as field staff of INGO
· Availability to undertake the assignment immediately
· Availability to travel in remote areas of Somali Region of Ethiopia
· Results focused and accountable for the effective and timely delivery of the assignment
