Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting in preparing monthly management accounts for the HQ reporting and the quarterly donor reports, review, process, record, analyze, and interpret financial transactions; to provide technical support to program, project accountants and regional Admin & Finance Assistants, and act as a focal person for MDT activity regarding financial matters.
Main duties and responsibilities:
· Assist in preparation of annual budgets and justifications for MDT program.
· Assist Regional Offices and other budget holders in preparing their monthly cash flow forecasts.
· Ensure that adequate funds are available at regional office for project activities such as mentorship visits, meetings, trainings, traveling and other expenses, and monitor their proper utilization in accordance with established rules and regulations.
· Assist budget holders in budget monitoring and prepare monthly variance analysis.
· Review purchasing, travel, personnel, and other financial transactions for arithmetic accuracy; completeness, proper authorization and compliance.
· Prepare Check Payment Coding Sheets for preparation of Bank Payment Vouchers.
· Check requests for replenishment of petty cash fund, fuel fund, revolving fund, and other floats and facilitate timely replenishments.
· Ensure that settlements of travel, training and other business advances are settled in time.
· Take periodic backup and ensure integrity of QuickBooks data.
· Supervise the works of Project Accountants in the areas of advances, purchase orders and invoices.
· Conduct budgetary control (budget review and analysis) and assist program staffs in effective utilization of budgets.
· Verify and reconcile bank statements with book balances on regular basis to ensure proper cash monitoring.
· Participate in preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial reports.

- Perform other related tasks as assigned to him/her by the immediate supervisor.
- BA degree in Accounting from a recognized university/college with a relevant work experience of at least five years.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheet
-And Word processing programs at a highly proficient level (Knowledge of Quickbooks an advantage)
