Terms of Reference to outsource a video editing of the footage taken in Wag Himra Zone Nutrition Specific and Sensitive Response post El Nino in 3 Woredas of Waghimra Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia
Introduction:
Save the Children International is the world's leading independent organization for children. For over two decades, Save the Children has operated well-established, multi-sectoral initiatives in Ethiopia, bringing global experience and expertise in the design and delivery of basic service programs. Save the Children has been in Amhara Region, Wag-Himra Zone since 1994 and for the last 2 decades it has led several integrated initiatives by different donors. The current project is Nutrition specific and sensitive response post El is a continuation of a past project successfully implemented in the proposed target areas, which lasted from January 2016 to April 2017.
In the current project, the major interventions are Nutrition and FSL, which complement each other and use nutrition criteria as entry points. Save the Children will be implemented this project by consortium with ACF and PIE covering 3 woredas among the 6 rural woredas of the Zone. Save the Children intervention woredas are Sekota (14 kebeles), Ziquala (9 kebeles) and Gazigibla in all (20) kebeles.
Save the Children has been providing support in Nutrition through involving in SAM/MAM screening, detection, treatment and referral of beneficiaries in the government TFU/OTP. Partners work in close collaboration with and support the woreda health offices to run CMAM including TSFP, care practices, IYCF. Currently ACF and SCI, in consortium (RESET II), are working in Sekota Zuria and Ziquala woredas.
The Action will build on the established coordination mechanisms for an immediate kick off and linking to the long-term resilience building projects to enhance sustainability through integration. The established practices of joint planning, monitoring and evaluation between consortium members will serve this project.
The project aims to benefit a total of 5,840 men and women in the areas of nutrition and food security and livelihoods. The project recognizes the indispensability of women and their great role in achieving the objectives of this project. Thus 45% (2,601) of beneficiaries will be comprised of women.
Scope of the work:
The video editor selected for these work is expected to do post production edit of the unedited footage that was taken at Wagimra zone of Amhara. Edit video footage for web publishing for internal and external audiences including donor.
Expected deliverables:
The editor is expected to edit and produce a final video documentary using the original video content that will be provided by Save the Children. The video documentary should not exceed five-minute-long. Save the Children branding and title at the intro part, and shall include logo of parties (Save the Children, European Commission,) at the end of the video.
The editor can get support from the communication teams to ensure desired outcome.
Time frame:
The first draft of the edited video shall be submitted to Save the Children with in one week from the time of the agreement is signed. And final submission of the work, should not exceed more than one week.
Required qualifications and experience
· Minimum of five years of experience working in film production;
· Extensive experience in producing development work related videos for international organizations with the aim of reaching both local and international audiences;
· Excellent technical capacity to ensure smooth and high quality production (staff and video production equipment);
· Demonstrable script writing skills.
· Experience working with Save the Children is a plus.
