Job Summary:
The General Accounting & Tax Manager, under the supervision of Financial Controller, is responsible for accurate and complete recording of all non – cash, non – stock & non – sales transactions; maintenance of parent stock ledger up on their placement in rearing, production and amortization; keep accurate & reconciled balances with related parties including parent and sister companies; ensure tax compliance, preparation of financial analysis and management reports accurately and on time.
Duties and responsibilities
· Responsible for the maintenance of proper & concise chart of accounts at Ethiochicken level
· Responsible to train & coach junior and site accountants to cope up with Ethiochicken organizational finance system
· Maintain proper record of flocks with their accurate timing on rearing; production and amortization in collaboration with operation team
· Prepare timely amortization of parent stocks in line with their production life for all sites and to their respective batches
· Maintain proper and accurate loan histories with our financial institutions including loans from banks and parent companies
· Prepare month end depreciation, interest computation for all loans, amortization and other adjustments as needed and post to the computerized accounting system
· Shall keep intercompany accounts reconciled and up to date
· Shall have a proper and accurate recording of capital registration and shareholder loan status
· Establish month-end staff loan, purchase advance, construction in progress and vendor reports on time
· Verify payment documents are accurate, complete and legal before they are paid
· Ensure Franco valuta imports are properly documented and make ready them for capital registration
· Conform monthly and yearly tax filing within company stated period of time
· Assist consultants and external auditors in their engagements related to finance
· Prepare vendor reconciliations periodically
· Keep complete history of imported fixed assets; maintain accurate FAR and make depreciation in compliance with IFRS
· Prepare consolidated and individual financial statements: SoFP, SCI, SCF and other management reports periodically
· Perform other related duties as assigned by the Financial Controller
Qualifications and Requirement
· Degree in Accounting /Finance
Experience
· 5 years and above in Accounting/Finance related work experience.
Competences
· Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
· Excellent knowledge of Peachtree Accounting Software
· Excellent computer proficiency
· Excellent cost accounting knowledge
· Related industry or manufacturing work experience
· IFRS knowledge is advantageous
