Monitor quantitative and qualitative competitive and market trends through internal analysis and external consultants and delivery actionable solutions to BUs.
Drill down individual objective into series of actionable initiatives and work continuously to meet the milestones and timeline, providing line manager with continuous feedback on progress.
Support regional BU’s short term operations and planning process with timely intelligence and forecast on prices, supply/demand and other variables for effective planning & performance optimization
Review and share about evolving competitive dynamics to contain risks & manage exposure in various regional markets. Identify emerging driving forces in various regional markets to help SABIC devise strategies and benchmark with competition
Help BU in firming-up regional/ country strategies by preparing material for workshops with Business/ sales/ supply chain & bringing insights on market dynamics to help BUs in identifying opportunities & managing for product and positioning the Ethiopian marketplace.
Assist with the development of the annual marketing plan and for controlling advertising, promotion and sales aids in accordance with the annual marketing plan.
Assist BU in the Budget & Planning exercise with understanding of relevant factors e.g. supply, demand and margin, forecast long-term outlook to help BU’s business steering process.
Play an integral role in the very long term planning (e.g 2025) process by generating data on supply demand price scenarios in various markets & identifying major drivers, helping organization in capital planning and investing.
Help BU’s to capture product and market opportunities through comprehensive segmentation analysis that identify new product outlets, prioritize existing segments with objective to balance maker share and profitability.
Provide input on competitor positioning and differentiation strategies to help SABIC plan it’s product and devise future strategies.
Uphold SABIC values and ethical precepts in all activities and interactions.
Mentor and motivate juniors and work towards transfer of skills.
Develop specific databases of SBU information needs (customers, markets, competitors, product, trade and others).
Ensure accessibility, compatibility and standardization with corporate database.
Assume responsibility for day-to-day handling of the database.
Produce a wide range of specific data/ reports as required (e.g. market reports, country reports, BU mandated reports etc…)
Assist with all data and analysis needs for long term strategy preparation.
Job Requirement
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in an Ag-related field
Excellent Command of English. (written and spoken)
Minimum 6 years’ experience in an Agri related field
At least three years’ experience of market intelligence function in an Agri related field
