The Position: The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) seeks to recruit an Assistant to Program Manager who will be a member of Animal and Human Health Program team in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
General: The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) works to improve food and nutritional security and reduce poverty in developing countries through research for efficient, safe and sustainable use of livestock. It is the only one of 15 CGIAR research centres dedicated entirely to animal agriculture research for the developing world. Job Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to assist in the Program Management process; facilitating in the various program activities and ensuring that the operations run smoothly.
The candidate will support research on the One Health Regional Network for the Horn of Africa (HORN) project. He/she will provide project management support and coordination across HORN in Ethiopia, including coordination of personnel, budgets and project outputs.

Education:
Certification in Program Management – desirable
Experience:
Bachelor degree with 5 years’ experience or Masters’ degree + 3 years’ experience, professional certification

Good report writing skills
Experience in supporting projects with numerous partners
Experience in facilitating teamwork and collaboration across multiple functions and organizations
Experience in budget management
Strong IT skills
Duty Station: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Grade: 2D
Minimum Base Salary: Birr 24,572 (Negotiable depending on experience, skill and salary history of the candidate)
Terms of appointment: This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position, initial appointment is for three years with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon individual performance and the availability of funding.
