In Ethiopia, GIZ has been working for more than 40 years in bilateral cooperation on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and on commission of the Ethiopian Government and International Donors. GIZ Energising Development Ethiopia is looking for a qualified candidate as per the detail below:
Position: Intern, Bioenergy Technology
Application deadline: April 06, 2018
Place of Work: Addis Ababa
Duration of the contract: 3 month with possibility extension to 6 month
Responsibilities:
The Intern for Bioenergy Technology will support the program office in the day-to-day activities in renewable energy in general and in particular in the implementation of climate finance and market development for improved cook stoves. Specifically, to provide support in all upcoming task related to the successful realisation of a CDM project component run by governmental institutions, as well as to assist the ongoing market development for cooking technologies.
· Assist the implementation and monitoring of renewable energy market development processes and activities as per agreed objectives, outputs, milestones and indicators defined in the program documents.
· Assist EnDev staff and EnDev partners in the implementation of a CDM component
· Document and share all processes, training aids, findings of research and studies for the program/project planning, implementation and knowledge management
· Maintain an overall good flow of communication and information between all involved staff and institutions.
Within the context of the above mentioned responsibilities, she/he fulfils the following specific tasks in the Bioenergy interventions of EnDev ET
· Assist EnDev staff and EnDev partners with the establishment of a national CDM experience sharing platform
· Assist political partners as assigned by his/her supervisor in CDM activities
· Assist EnDev Staff in preparing, implementing and reporting capacity building measures for regional and national partners
· Assist EnDev in the development and piloting of tracking system for improved Cookstoves, according to CDM standard
· Assist EnDev staff in an upcoming issue related to bioenergy technology market development
· Assists assigned national and international consultants in related fields and as assigned by his/her supervisor
· Following up planned activities with all relevant partners and facilitating communication with partner
· Arranging logistics of meetings, attending and writing minutes

Qualification and experience:
· Minimum qualification requirements is a degree in relevant field, such as environmental science, social science, political science or business related fields
· Excellent written an oral communication skills in Amharic and English
· Proven computer skills with all common Microsoft office applications
· Professional experience in communicating with government institutions
· Experience in Monitoring, Reporting and Verification and/or knowledge about climate finance mechanisms will be an asset
