Further programmes enhance the development of a sustainable textile sector and renewable energies.
For our Procurement and Services unit at GIZ country office in Addis Ababa, we are looking for a
Position: Contract Officer
Remuneration: As per the GIZ scale

Under the supervision of the Head Procurement and Services the officer will be responsible for the successful drawing up, and follow-up of the following contracts till closure;
· Contract with Individual Appraisers
· Contract with Consulting Firm
· Contract for Financing Agreements
· Contract for Local Subsidies
· Contract for Construction
· Local Rental Agreements and Framework agreements
Tasks:
· Draws up contracts.
· Maintains checklists and the current agreed system with the department head
· Advises projects/programs on contract related matters.
· Follows up on tenders from its publication, evaluation till awarding.
· Follows up on contracts on the Cosoft till closure.
· Follows up on contracts with the project/programs using Procurement and Services Status Notification System.
· Ensures contracts sent to project/programs are returned and the status are maintained in the Cosoft as well as Procurement and Services Status Notification System or other agreed systems of the time
· Follows up on partial and final payment vouchers for contracts emerged from contract unit and recording and maintaining them in the respective files.
· Scans and maintains main contracts and related correspondences in the shared file and also upload them in the DMS.
· Scans and makes contracts available in the shared folders for Finance unit.
· Keeps database of Consultants.
· Performs according to the latest guidelines of O+R.
· Attends Procurement and Services team meetings, hold Minutes of Minutes (MoM)
· Performs any other duty assigned by department head in related areas.
Required Educational qualifications, professional experience and competency
· University degree (BA) in business management or equivalent is preferred, but other educational background will be accepted with appropriate work experience.
· Minimum of five (5) years professional experience in procurement and/or logistics related to international development or humanitarian aid work.
· Good knowledge of the GIZ rules and regulations and GIZ procurement software (i.e. Cosoft and Prosoft) is preferred.
· Knowledge of standard computer applications such as MS Office applications, in particular Excel.
· Fluent in English both in speaking and writing, ideally a knowledge of German
· Trustworthiness and ability to maintaining strict confidentiality and observing data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
· Ability to work independently, unsupervised, and as part of a multicultural and international team.
