I. JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of Data Entry Clerk is to cover short term data entry requirements of Pact Ethiopia. The post holder is responsible for entering and managing data as outlined by Pact’s Data Entry Clerk. Tasks will vary based on the data related activities and requirements of the Country program during the period of appointment.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Job Responsibility #1: Data Entry into MERL data base:
Ability to understand and work with paper based formats and templates of the various projects
Ability to enter data as per agreed work plan and schedule. This may include (but not is not limited to) entry of back-log data and quarterly performance data into the MERL database, and entry of survey/assessment data into appropriate database (Access, Excel, SPSS, etc)
Capacity to identify outliers/discrepancies in data set while entering survey/assessment data. Additionally, s/he will be expected to make corrections in consultation with MERL and/or relevant Project staff as and when data quality errors arise
Job Responsibility #2: Filing and documentation:
Support backup filing for entered data as identified by data entry clerk ( hard copies as well as electronic)
Support proper filing and documentation of partners' reports and all other documents in MERL Unit
Support Finance unit on the financial documentation and scanning
Job Responsibility #3: Perform other activities assigned by Data Entry Clerk as and when required
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
A) Education
Grade 12 complete.
B) Experience
Minimum of 2 year experience working in data entry
C) Technical skills, abilities and personal characteristics
Demonstrable skills of applying attention to detail with data/information accuracy
Keyboarding over 100 strokes per minute
Ability to perform detailed repetitive tasks and functions accurately and consistently
Easily understands paper based formats; and proficiency in spreadsheets and database templates
Identifies errors and incompleteness in reports and seeks for corrections and/or actions
Good and organized in filing and documentation
Ability in sitting in one place (computer) for long hours
Following directions, and good general office skills
Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with short deadlines and completing assignments in a specified period.
