The Carter Center country office in Ethiopia, which assists the Government of Ethiopia in Disease Elimination and Eradication Programs, is looking for a qualified professional to fill the Senior Campaign Manager vacancy for its Guinea Worm Eradication Program.
Summary of Job Description:
In 2016, The Carter Center in Ethiopia (TCCE) started a collaboration with partners to design and implement a behavior change communication (BCC) campaign for Guinea worm disease (GWD) eradication, “Let Our Journey Not Be Interrupted By Guinea Worm.” The BCC campaign promotes GWD preventive measures, as well as a cash reward for reporting cases in Ethiopia. The Ethiopian Dracunculiasis Eradication Program (EDEP) is responsible for overseeing the eradication program in country, and the successful post-holder will be integrated into this structure.
As lead project manager, the Senior Campaign Manager will successfully oversee the campaign’s implementation across Ethiopia. He/she will work closely with the Campaign Manager and BCC Advisor to ensure campaign materials (i.e., posters, song, radio drama and social drama) are disseminated effectively and progress is monitored, in accordance with agreed milestones.
The post holder will build excellent rapport and effectively collaborate with key stakeholders within EDEP. He/she will act as the primary liaison person between the EDEP, TCCE and partners. As a Carter Center hire, the incumbent will be subject to the administrative norms, including the code of conduct of The Carter Center for technical advisors in Ethiopia.
This is a dynamic and high-pressure role, and the post holder will be expected to be both proactive and reactive, collaborative and flexible, according to changing country contexts.
