PSI/Ethiopia is an innovative network member of PSI with a team of more than 140 people passionate about marketing and dedicated to serving Sara! Since 2003, we have marketed products and led programs to prevent HIV, improve reproductive health, and improve child health. We market condoms and increase condom use among people most at risk of HIV. We increase access to clean water by selling Wuha Agar, a water disinfectant. At PSI/Ethiopia we do more than simply provide products and services, we seek to create true change – by making markets work for the poor – to increase the use of critical health products and services that are available, affordable, and desirable to the most vulnerable Ethiopian people.
We are looking for motivated MEL Specialist to ensure quality data collection, analysis and use at regional level, under a 5 years USAID-funded activity aimed at providing comprehensive HIV services for key and priority populations. The ideal candidates have matured experience on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and are familiar with any evidence use for decision making approach; proactive and energetic, the MEL Coordinators will work very closely with the local implementing partners (LIPs) to build their capacity on M&E and ensure that data are used to continuously improve performances.

Your contribution
You will work under the supervision of the Area Program Manager, in close collaboration with the MEL advisor, the regional team and the technical team. More specifically, you will:
- Oversee the regular data collection at regional level
- Conduct regular data cleaning, compilation and submit to Area Manager for review
- Ensure timely and quality submission of data from the local implementing partners (LIPs) and PSI/Ethiopia in accordance with national guidelines
- Be responsible for maintaining complete and up-to-date files of data at regional level
- Provide direct support and capacity building to LIPs staff on M&E, including use of data for decision making, through support and supervision, on the job shading and trainings
- Conduct regular data quality assurance for LIPs
- Compile project scoreboard at regional level for decision making
- Contribute to the regional work-plan development
- Perform any other related activities as assigned by immediate supervisor

Your background
- MA/BA in Public Health Statistics/Population Studies/Economics or equivalent
- 4/6 years of progressive professional experience in M&E in similar sized organizations
- Experience in technical project implementation
- Experience conducting trainings on M&E
What it takes to succeed
- Attention to details, analytical skills and problem-solving capacity
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office products; knowledge of DHIS2 is a plus
- Good personal organizational skills including the ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- Fluency in English, Amharic and other regional languages
- Willingness to travel extensively within Ethiopia
