Job Responsibilities
The Refugee Response Coordinator will be based in the HI Gambella office, with frequent travels to the refugee camps. S/he will oversee the implementation of all Handicap International (HI) refugee response projects in the Gambella refugee camps, in the fields of Physiotherapy for Severely Malnourished Children, Protection, Inclusion of People and Children with Disabilities, and Disability Mainstreaming.
Responsibilities
1. Managing the Refugee Response Projects’ teams
• Ensure that the Refugee Response Projects’ teams understand and adopt HI mandate and strategy
• Supervise and lead the Refugee Response program development team;
• Ensure that projects under his/her direct supervision are on time and on budget and that contractual obligations are respected
• Ensure that project outputs are consistent with log frames, projects indicators, and M&E kit
2. Ensuring project quality implementation in close collaboration with the program technical unit
• Ensure that projects and activities are in compliance with HI technical guidelines and policies
• Ensure that reports are of quality and submitted on time to the Management Team and Project partners
• Develop a culture of quality (planning, implementation, ToRs, reporting, capitalization…)
• Ensure interventions remain up to the most recent HI and Humanitarian standards at all times
• Ensure the collection of regular and quality data
3. Ensuring project respect HI financial and administrative policies and procedures in close
• Ensure that project budgets expenditures are on time
• Validate budget reallocations before submission to support service
• Ensure conducive working relationship between administration unit and projects teams
• Ensure that projects and activities are in compliance with local laws and regulations, HI standards and donor requirements.
4. Other tasks if needed
• Be in alert on the general context and propose new projects
• Participate to the development of project fund raising proposals
· Degree in International Development or Social Sciences or other relevant fields in line with the Job
· Specialization in Disability
Experience:
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Coordination of Refugee Response Projects in Ethiopia
· Previous experiences in INGOs and in the field of disability
· Previous experience from a refugee camp setting
