ROLE PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to lead the monitoring, evaluation, research and documentations at the PU level and ensure support and linkages to PALS standards. The post holder is responsible to support in monitoring & follow up and reporting of all projects in accordance with funding agreement and budget allocation made by Plan International Ethiopia’s Country Office and Program Units (Pus), to provide technical inputs into project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of emergency/ recovery projects and also to assess the outputs, outcomes and impact of program interventions and activities of Education in Emergency/recovery programs and projects. In addition to these she/he will be responsible for the delivery of results in line with pre agreed program plans and objectives and oversees program quality and effectiveness at all stages throughout the project cycle. Given that a significant and increasing amount of the work is done through partnership, a key aspect of the role is nurturing, developing and build capacities towards the achievement of results through partners. Plan Ethiopia has put in place a CP policy that all of its staff must adhere to and sign.
His/her work directly contributes to the realization of Plan’s mission in Ethiopia. The main objective is to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of different projects in emergency and recovery by providing technical leadership in planning, monitoring, evaluation and documentation. He/she provides technical support to ensure quality and effectiveness of Plan’s emergency response within the framework of Plan Ethiopia’s Country Strategic Plan and Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan in accordance with his/her designated area of responsibility. He/she assists in designing/developing, coordinating and managing all monitoring and evaluation, and data management of different projects. His/her work enables Plan Ethiopia to reach, assist and protect many vulnerable children and youths facing rapid and slow on-set emergencies and disasters across the country and this is directly linked with Plan’s mandate of promoting and ensuring the well-being of children in Ethiopia.

Educational Background
Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years relevant experience of which at least two years experience with NGOs.
