ROLE PURPOSE:
The job Holder will be responsible for the coordination, monitoring and supervision of health facility based SRH services and ensure effective planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Adolescent and youth friendly SRH services, Maternal services and Family Planning services in the targeted government health facilities. He/she will be responsible for ensuring delivery of Quality SRH, Maternal and family planning services according to the MOH guidelines and protocols
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure that adolescent and Youth SRH, Maternal Health and Family planning activities within the project areas are implemented according to the approved donor and government agreements. In particular be responsible for the following activities:
· Make sure the Adolescent and youth SRH services, maternal health and Family planning serves provided by the health facilities and Community are per the standard guidelines of FMOH.
· Facilitate the training of health service providers and health extensions workers
· Facilitate the training of community health promoters and provide technical and material support
· Lead the implementation of key sexual reproductive health, maternal health and FP interventions in the project areas.
· Facilitate training for Community Health Promoters, religious leaders, and other CBOs.
· Conduct regular visit to Health facilities and identify support needs of the service providers and the institution itself
· Facilitate periodical review meetings with health workers including health extension workers and woreda health office management staff.
· Make sure that marginalized poor rural women and children in the intervention woredas are at the centre of the SRH, Maternal health and Family planning services
· Integrate the health related work closely with the broader community based activities of the rest of the project.
· Support community mobilization activities implemented by local partners.
2. Ensure the work plan of the post relates closely to the regularly updated project work plan guiding the project implementation and progress towards completion.
3. Based on the project proposal, develop action plans for assessments, monitoring, review and quarterly and annual project reports and plans.
4. Undertake representation and advocacy with Government partners and officials. Primarily at zone and woreda level. In particular ensure there is a system for networking and communication with local Government partners, relevant line departments and community representations in the project area(s). Be able to advocate to partners for project activities and objectives, and understand the project’s contribution to wider SCI goals and objectives.
5. Be fully aware of how far the project fulfils child rights in terms of SCI’s strategic and thematic plans. Ensure that Child Rights programming is effectively incorporated into all aspects of SCI’s work.
6. Comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to child protection, health and safety, security, equal opportunities and other relevant policies.
7. Record and monitor project activities and its process to facilitate learning, implementing monitoring and evaluation.
8. Work closely with woreda officers, primary health workers, health extension workers to link community based activities with health facilities. Lead the establish community to health facility and facility to facility referral system
9. Through field visits, provide technical advice and support to HEWs, health service providers and partners and ensure the SRH, maternal health and FP activities are well integrated in the project activities
10. Implement and coordinate a system to share experience among the intervention woredas.
11. Ensure the effective and efficient use of all SC resources in order to keep costs low and ensure the security of staff.
12. Participate and lead stakeholder analysis, training need assessment, design and coordination of training sessions.
· Support the zonal coordinator and project manager in the preparation of documentation for any project modifications, amendments or extensions which require donor and/or Government consent and approval.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
· BSc in Public Health, Nursing, Midwifery and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in Adolescent and youth SRH, Maternal Health and Family planning.
· Relevant project management experience in an international NGO or similar organisation.
· Good technical knowledge of policy and experience in the field of adolescent and youth SRH, Maternal Health and Family planning.
· A good understanding of development issues and the policy context in the Amhara Region and Ethiopia generally.
· Computer literate in word processing and excel packages
· An understanding of child rights and their protection and fulfilment in the development context
