GOAL has been working in Ethiopia since 1984 implementing a range of multi-sectoral development, resiliency and humanitarian responses. GOAL Ethiopia is currently working with street children, pastoralists and rural small holders and responds to humanitarian crises in Ethiopia by working closely with local communities, local government and other key actors with a strong emphasis on resiliency, preparedness and longer term impacts. GOAL Ethiopia's major funders are USAID, OFDA, ECHO, BPRM, Irish Aid and UNOCHA.
ABOUT THE ROLE
GOAL Ethiopia is looking for a competent, motivated, experienced IT Officer to join the organization. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team. The IT Officer will take care of the day- to-day support and troubleshooting of all software and equipment (desktops, laptops, printers, and copier and telephone lines) at GOAL-Ethiopia head office and Programme Offices.
ABOUT YOU
You'll be an experienced IT Officer who will be responsible to ensure the availability and reliability of the information technology systems in all GOAL Ethiopia offices, and to support the users of these systems in using them effectively and correctly.
· BSc in IT, Computer Science or other related field with a minimum of three years relevant experience.
· Broad knowledge of IT including hardware & related applications: network administration of Local Area Networks (LAN) and excellent troubleshooting and Server management skills.
· Knowledge of Managing and monitoring servers (AD, DNS, DHCP, SQL Server) and traffic, which will help to identify potential problems and subsequently.
Desirable qualities, Skills and Competences:
· Having an NGO experience will be an added advantage.
· Good written and oral communication skills in English
· Ability to priorities a demanding workload.
· Ability to delegate, manage and train staff.
· Ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Willing to travel to field sites.
· Attention to details.
· Team oriented, flexible and creative approach; keen to take initiative where appropriate.
· Accountability & responsiveness within areas of responsibilities,
· Ability to work in multi-cultural environment.
Remuneration & Benefits:
Salary Birr 13,297.00 per month
Transportation Allowance - 10% of monthly salary.
Taxi fare, 300 birr/month.
Medical Allowance - Birr 6,500/annum (will be added in your monthly salary)
Pension - as per the government pension scheme (11% from the employer and 7% from the employee).
