We are supporting local NGOs and governmental stakeholders in implementing inclusive education, Community Based Rehabilitation and inclusive development projects in Amhara region, SNNPR and Addis Ababa City Administration.
To strengthen our inclusive education, community based rehabilitation and inclusive development projects we are looking for a Programme Officer.
Your duties:
Actively engage in planning and managing inclusive education, Community Based Rehabilitation and disability inclusive development projects to enable Light for the World to turn its vision in these programmatic areas into reality. The role holder will be responsible for effective and efficient coordination and implementation of the projects/programs in Amhara Region and also for promoting Light for the World’s contribution in the sector at regional and partner level. Furthermore, the role holder will engage in networking with other NGO actors engaged in education, community services and development and relevant stakeholders in Ethiopia.

The location of employment is Bahir Dar; with frequent travel to project areas and duration of employment contract is for one year with the possibilities renewal.
Your profile:
University degree in Inclusive Education, development studies and/or related fields with a minimum of five years’ practical experiences in projects cycle management in general and education related projects in particular. Your vast general knowledge in projects/programmes planning and management brings an added value to the success of projects jointly implemented by Light for the World and its partners. You have an excellent understanding and knowledge of project cycle management. You have a high ability in networking and have profound communication, presentation and writing skills in English and local languages. You have a good knowledge of the education policy and procedures as well as an experience working with governmental institutions and local partners. Knowledge about disability inclusion, and the UN Convention on the Right of Persons with Disabilities is an advantage.
