INTRODUCTION
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), an international non-governmental organization (NGO), has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of Africa since 1997. DRC promotes and supports solutions to the problems faced by refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs), and migrants. The organization has offices across the region, and has been operational in Ethiopia since 2009. With funding from bilateral and multilateral donors, DRC is currently implementing a range of activities across Ethiopia and Djibouti, including WASH and shelter provision, child and youth protection, gender based violence response, awareness-raising of migration risks, protection monitoring of migration routes, and livelihoods support for returning migrants or those at-risk of migration.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Protection Information Management (PIM) Officer will be fully dedicated to leading and strengthening the quality of protection-related data management across DRC Ethiopia and Djibouti’s projects. To this end, she or he will play a key role in contributing to and support protection programing through the collection, analysis and sharing of information in a sensitive and appropriate way in accordance with professional standards for protection work. She or he will be responsible for contributing to the design of reports and thematic documents related to DRC’s protection programming in Ethiopia and Djibouti for both internal and external audiences, and will support the Protection Coordinator in identifying key protection trends and in the analysis of quantitative data in order to support the development of evidence based decision-making and strategies. Finally, the position is responsible for the design, implementation and management of program-related data and information management systems.
