Background
Under the overall and technical supervision of the EPC program coordinator in Addis Ababa, direct administrative supervision of the Head of Sub-Offices in Gambella, the Senior Project Assistant will be responsible to assist the day to day implementation of livelihood activities in the assigned duty stations in close collaboration with project partners, local authorities, refugees and host communities. She/he will be tasked to prepare activity plans, implement project activities and collect and prepare implementation progresses of planned activities.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
The Project Assistant (Livelihood) is expected to carry out his/her duties in accordance with strictest moral and ethical standards and with due respect for gender and socio-cultural differences of the migrants. In particular, he/she will be responsible to:
Education
· University degree in natural Sciences, preferably Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Science Rural Development, Agricultural Extension, Disaster Risk Management, Climate Change, Environment Protection and related fields
Experience
· Four years of relevant experience in the emergencies and humanitarian assistance sector- preferably in the field of Agriculture, Cooperatives, disaster risk management interface with focus on livelihood;
· Past experience of working in similar contexts / in the proposed districts would be an added advantage;
Languages
· Thorough knowledge of Amharic and English languages.
· Knowledge of Local Languages spoken in Gambella region would be an advantage.

Only candidates residing in either the country of the duty station or from a location in a neighbouring country that is within commuting distance of the duty station will be considered. In all cases, a prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station, or in the neighbouring country located within commuting distance, and work permit, as applicable.
