Background
Country Programme
Concern Worldwide (Concern) is an international, non-governmental, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. Concern has been working in Ethiopia since 1973 in both emergency and development programmes and has been pivotal in supporting the initial piloting and scale up of Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) response with the Federal Ministry of Health.
Concern is planning to conduct a coverage surveys in East Belessa woreda of North Gonder in Amhara region in June 2018.
Purpose of the Consultancy
To organise, coordinate and implement the coverage surveys to understand the coverage of the CMAM programme and the factors affecting coverage in the woreda.
Essential and Desirable Experience/Qualifications
Concern Worldwide is seeking an experienced consultant or team of consultants with Master’s Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or Biostatistics, along with relevant technical knowledge in conducting coverage surveys.
Necessary experience:
· Experience of conducting SQUEAC surveys
· Experience of developing coverage survey proposal and developing a sampling frame for a camp context as well as at woreda level
· Excellent analytical and writing skills
· Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
· Adequate knowledge of Health and Nutrition sectors in Ethiopia
· Good understanding of the local context will be an added advantage.
