Background: The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) associated with former President William J. Clinton’s Foundation is currently operating in Ethiopia carrying out a wide range of programs to support the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia in improving the health status of the country by ensuring access and quality of health services. We are committed to increasing our effectiveness through an innovative programming approach that optimizes quality, impact, and scale. Being the largest CHAI field office worldwide, we currently employ over 100 people in the following 7 programs: Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH), Drug Access, Nutrition, Child Survival, Lab Services, Vaccines Introduction, Global Health Financing and Human resource for Health (HRH).
CHAI laboratory services program is working with the Ethiopian Public Health Institute in improving and building laboratories’ capacity to provide quality laboratory services to the community. CHAI has piloted GeneXpert POC EID testing and is making preparations to scale up its use in the country. CHAI is seeking dynamic and highly motivated individuals for quantitative data collection for impact assessment through a standard Monitoring and Evaluation system by comparing baseline data where testing is being done using conventional platforms with post-POC data in certain selected health facilities.
The data collection will be conducted in 4-9 sites dispersed in all regions of the country.
