Overview of the Role:
The role of Education Officer will involve working on behalf of the CEL (Camara Education Ltd) Education Department to research and document the educational needs of Camara customers across Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Tanzania, Zambia and Ireland to support the development of appropriate quality training and educational products.
You will have a proven track record of education desk research, developing training programmes and educational products. You will have excellent communication and planning skills. You should also have knowledge or experience within Primary or Secondary and Non-Formal Education sectors, and specifically in the areas of ICT in Education.
Self-motivation, enthusiasm, creativity and commitment to equality and education are a must, along with the ability to work on your own initiative.
Responsibilities:
Conduct research on teaching / learning technologies especially those relevant for integration of ICT in education in the context of where we work
Review and update the Camara Education Hubs specific education and training need analysis
Ensure all developed educational products are aligned with the department and organisation policies, strategies and business plans
Act as a liaison with Ethiopia based product development team, education managers across educational hubs and education department to facilitate implementation of new educational products
Pilot the products in delivering training to educators and provide support to teachers directly in the school.
Consistently provide high level quality of education inputs to both internal and external customers.
Be comfortable and confident in upselling / recommending educational products or specific development requests
Work with Global Education Manager to engage with education stakeholders across Camara network
Report on a weekly basis to key Camara staff on progress, including the Global Education Manager. All activities must be coordinated with the Global Education Manager and the IT Development Manager.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education (B. Ed), Master’s degree preferable
Experience:
2 years+ ICT in Education and Training development experience
2 years+ Education Research experience
Experience working with international NGO and donors in developing country
Commitment to values and ethos of Camara Education
Must have previous experience working in a developing country

Excellent oral and written communication in English
